Where n8n fits, and where it does not

Most of our automation is built on n8n, self-hosted on Azure Australia, which is why your data stays where it does and why you are not renting the workflows back from a vendor.

n8n handles the connective work: triggers, API calls, transformations, retries and the audit log of what ran. It is open source, so there is no per-task pricing that punishes you for succeeding, and no vendor holding the workflows hostage.

It is not the answer to everything. When the process needs its own data model, a user interface, or logic too involved to live in a flow diagram, you want an application, and we will say so rather than bending a workflow tool into a shape it was not built for. Frequently asked questions

Do we need to replace our current software to use AI automation?

No. The most effective automation connects the tools you already pay for. Whether that is an older ERP, a modern CRM, an accounting package or an industry-specific system, we work through their APIs and build the automated workflow between them. Replacing working software is expensive and disruptive, and it is rarely what the problem actually calls for.

Is our company data secure, or will it be fed into public AI models?

Your data stays in Australia and it is not used to train public models. We deploy into ring-fenced environments on Azure Australia, so your business data sits on Australian infrastructure under your own tenancy. Where a workflow calls a language model, we use enterprise endpoints that carry no training rights over your data, and we tell you up front which steps involve a model and which do not.

How do we work out which processes to automate?

That is what the first call is for. We walk through your week, find where the hours actually go, and rank the candidates by hours consumed against effort to automate. You get that assessment whether or not you engage us to build anything. Most businesses are surprised by which task tops the list, because the worst offender is usually routine enough that nobody thinks to complain about it.

How long before we see anything working?

We scope one workflow first, not a programme of work. A single automation is typically 2 to 6 weeks from scoping to running in production, depending on how many systems it touches and how cleanly they expose their data. You see the first one working, and paying for itself, before deciding whether to extend it.

What happens if the automation breaks or our systems change?

Workflows fail when an upstream system changes its API or sends something unexpected, and any honest provider will tell you it happens. We build in error handling and alerting so a failure surfaces immediately rather than silently dropping records, and we offer ongoing support arrangements. You own the workflows either way. There is no lock-in that stops another developer picking them up.
